How long have you been doing CrossFit?
1 year….Since March 2019.
What made you decide to give 7 Mile Strength & Fitness a try?
I wanted a small intimate gym and was familiar with 7 Mile Strength & Fitness from Coach Scott’s running club.
What was the hardest part when you started out and how did you overcome that?
Oh the aches and pains, but I had a goal in mind and refused to be deterred.
Most of the real world are still sleeping at 5am. You’re up and at ‘em getting ready to workout! How do you stay motivated to get up that early to work out?
I am an early bird naturally so that works well for me! Added to that mornings work best with my work schedule, when I get into work I have long days. If I had a choice between completing some task at work vs leaving early to exercise….work will prob always win. So I guess the key is finding what works best for you and your schedule!
What’s your favorite thing to do on the weekend?
I love to cuddle up with a good novel!
What is one thing you’re most proud of in the gym?
Besides losing 30lbs!? My deadlifts!
Anything this year you would LOVE to accomplish – inside or outside of the gym?
The goal is to lean out some more, get a little more “defined” in some key body parts: legs arms, abs and I am in the final stretch of completion of my masters in International Finance. Fingers crossed I will accomplish both this year.
Anything people at 7 Mile Strength & Fitness don’t know about you?
I am naturally shy…….. and I have climbed an active volcano.
Anything crazy on your bucket list? (bungee jumping, sky diving, hiking?)
…….hmmm not a dare devil.
What is your favorite WOD and why?
Any weight lifting that features the use of my legs!
What is your least favorite WOD and why?
Strict Press and running
What has been your biggest surprise about doing CrossFit?
That it never gets easier; it is a challenge each workout.
Would you recommend 7 Mile Strength & Fitness to others and if so, why?
100% for sure. The culture, the camaraderie, the “family type” atmosphere, the sincere interest of the coaches, everyone’s willingness to help and cheer you on, even as the newbie you don’t feel left out – I can keep going but you get the gist.
Thanks Malynda, we are proud to have you as our March 7 Miler.
