How long have you been doing FITCon and CrossFit?

I started in 2015.


What made you decide to give 7 Mile Strength & Fitness a try?

Being nagged on a daily basis about how great it is…


What was the hardest part when you started out and how did you overcome that?

Accepting that I “drank the kool-aid”. At the time, depending on who you asked, CrossFit had the reputation of being like a bit of a cult. However, 7 Mile is a great community so I quickly understood why so many were attracted to it.


It is definitely a strange time we are in at the moment. Tell us some things you’re doing to cope with curfew and social distancing. How have you been enjoying the Zoom classes?

What day is it??? On a more serious note, between the full-time day job and owning small business(es) my life is normally moving at a million miles per hour, therefore I’m enjoying the ability to slow down (just) a bit, focus on less things at a time (so like 50 instead of 100) and enjoy my surroundings. The Zoom classes have been great! I’m so glad we have that option and otherwise my coach for life (#shoutout to G-pa aka Trevor) is a DM away if I’m looking for some solo torture sessions.


After all this is over, what’s the first thing you’re gonna do?

See my nieces and nephews in person! They’re dying for some auntie time (‘cause I’m the best, but in reality they just want to use my pool – ignoring their own of course).


What is one thing you’re most proud of in the gym?

I’m proud of how much the Coaches for Life care about their clients/athletes.


I know we’re only a few months into the year, but what are some things you’d like to accomplish this year?

Not die from Covid-19


Anything people at 7 Mile Strength & Fitness don’t know about you?

I can’t immediately think of any anecdotes to share, so I’ll just stick to the fact that I’m left handed.


Anything crazy on your bucket list? (bungee jumping, sky diving, hiking?)

Would hiking be considered crazy? I don’t have anything crazy on my bucket list, but I would like to learn how to dive. Growing up on the Island, I always took the option of diving for granted, but it’s on my list!


What is your favorite WOD and why?

Anything that does not involve burpees. I’m a fan of anything with deadlifts. #getdemgains


What is your least favorite WOD and why?

See above. Can we PLEASE find another movement that works the same body parts and pretend the relevant sadist did not invent the burpee.


What has been your biggest surprise about doing FITCon/CrossFit?

That I’ve stuck with it! Honestly I have had some great trainers in my life, but I haven’t quit on Trevor yet!


Would you recommend 7 Mile Strength & Fitness to others and if so, why?

Yes! Great community, knowledgable coaches and a team that really cares about the wellbeing of their members and not just from a fitness perspective, but on all levels.
